What
you'll need:
-
Photograph, postcard, greeting card,
or whatever image you've chosen
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Glue-stick
- Pencil
- Craft knife
- Thin cardboard or foamcore
- Paintbrush and paint (optional)
- Lightswitch plate for template
Instructions:
Measure
your images, then cut a piece of cardboard
or foamcore the same size. Attach the
image to the cardboard with the glue
stick. Make sure that the edges are
glued down well.
Use your plain switchplate as the template
for the lightswitch hole and the screws.
Centre the plate over your image and
use the pencil to mark the areas you
need to cut out. Paint the tops of the
screw heads to match the image, if you
want. Let dry, then slap it on the wall!
(You can spray it with varnish to preserve
it first.) Variation: if you would like
a border around the image, cut the cardboard
so that it's about 1/2" larger than
the image. Paint the cardboard whatever
colour you like, let dry, then adhere
the image.
