Decorative pillows are
easy to make, and they make great gifts.
Small pillows like this can be sewn
on a machine or by hand.
What you'll need:
-
8" x 10" pieces - two for every pillow
you want to make, plus extras to cut
shapes from
- Paper and pencil
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Needle and thread
- Sewing machine (optional)
- Stuffing
Instructions:
- Put aside the felt pieces you want
for the front and back panel.
- Draw the design for the front of the
pillow (a heart, a flower, an exclamation
point) on the paper and cut it out.
- Place the paper pieces on another
piece of felt, trace, and cut out your
design.
- Sew the design to the front of the
pillow (if it has a lot of details,
like the points on a star for example,
it may be easier to do this by hand)
- Stitch the front and back panels together.
- You can either place the right sides
of the pillow together, stitch it, then
flip it right side out, or you can stitch
it right side out around the edges.
